PRE-REQUISITES: Learners must be a minimum 16 years of age. Appropriate PPE gear must be worn at all times.

COURSE NUMBERS: Minimum 6, maximum 12.

This Nationally Accredited course provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to work safely at heights. 

Learning for the course includes:

  • Identify work requirements including access, application of height safety procedures, site inspection, identification of safety equipment, risk hazard identification.
  • Perform work at heights including checking access area, fall equipment, manual handling of materials, safety system checks, monitoring of risk control measures.
  • Identification of work procedures and instructions including consultation with authorised personnel, PPE gear, install fall protection and perimeter protection equipment, identify approved methods of moving tools/equipment, safety system installation.
  • Access and install equipment.
  • Clean up work area.

Sitetrain will provide the use of our training trailer throughout the course at your workplace.

The course will be delivered using a combination of classroom-based instruction and practical skills development sessions.  Training will be co-ordinated from Sitetrain head office and delivered at your workplace.

Learners will participate in facilitated learning sessions using PowerPoint presentations, handouts, breakout sessions and discussion. During practical sessions, learners will be divided into groups and be instructed on a range of practical skills using working at heights permits and hazard awareness documentation (JSA).
